When operating the machine for which the user authentication is specified, you can log in to the machine without entering the user name and password by holding the smart device near its operation panel.
Depending on the device in use, the values to specify and the procedure may vary.

This function can only be used on an MFP/printer with Smart Operation Panel.
Install Quick Card Authentication function and Bluetooth Authentication Plugin on the device to use this function.
Enable [Allow Bluetooth Connection] on Smart Device Connector. See Enabling Bluetooth.
Register the smart device to the MFP using the Quick Card Authentication function before using this function.

You cannot log in to the MFP by holding the smart device near its operation panel while the MFP is in sleep mode.
When placing multiple Bluetooth devices side by side, leave a distance of 1 meter or more between them.
To enable quick card authentication, specify the type of the IC card reader. To enable authentication using a smart device, enable Bluetooth.
Log in to the machine as the machine administrator on the control panel.
On the Home screen, press [Settings].
Press [System Settings].
Press [Network/Interface]
[External Interface Software Settings].
From the list next to Select IC Card Reader, select the type of the IC card reader to use.
After selecting the type of IC card reader, set the authentication and software to be used.
To use a smart device to authenticate, press [Bluetooth Software Settings] and select [Bluetooth Authentication Plugin] from the list next to Bluetooth.
Check that the [Active] check box under Authentication is selected, and then press [OK].
When the confirmation message is displayed, press [Close].
Press [OK].
When the confirmation message is displayed, press [Close].

On the Home screen, press the application list [

To use a smart device to authenticate, press [Connector] on the [APPS] tab.
Press [
], and then press [Bluetooth Settings].
From the list next to Bluetooth, select [ON].
Select the [Allow Bluetooth Connection] check box, and then press [Exit].

On the application list screen, press [Quick Card Authentication Config.].
Press [Use Authentication].
Follow the instruction on the screen to turn off the main power of the machine, and then turn it back on.
When the machine restarts, Quick Card Authentication is enabled. The screen is ready to read a smart device.

Add the unique number that is specific to a certain smart device to the user information that is registered in the address book of the MFP.
Check that the Bluetooth function of the smart device is enabled.
On the operation panel of the machine, display the authentication screen of Quick Card Authentication.
On the menu of RICOH Smart Device Connector, swipe left or right to select [Login to MFP].
Tap [Login / Logout].
Tap the Bluetooth label on the operation panel of the machine with the smart device.
Enter the login user name and password of the user to which to register the smart device, and press [Register].
The number that is specific to the smart device is registered in the user information.
Press [Confirmation].

[Login to MFP] appears when “ON” is selected in [Login to MFP] under [Navigation Display Item] on the [Settings] menu.
You cannot register to the MFP by holding the smart device near its operation panel while the MFP is in sleep mode.
If another smart device is registered to the user who already has a registered smart device or IC card, the previously registered device or IC card will be overwritten.

Check that the Bluetooth function of the smart device is enabled.
On the operation panel of the machine, display the authentication screen of Quick Card Authentication.
On the menu of RICOH Smart Device Connector, swipe left or right to select [Login to MFP].
Tap [Login / Logout].
Tap the Bluetooth label on the operation panel of the machine with the smart device.
The smart device is connected with the machine, and login is now complete.

[Login to MFP] appears when “ON” is selected in [Login to MFP] under [Navigation Display Item] on the [Settings] menu.
If the Bluetooth connection to the machine is unstable, tap [Bluetooth Sensitivity Settings] in the "Now searching MFP" screen, and adjust the Bluetooth sensitivity.

On the menu of RICOH Smart Device Connector, swipe left or right to select [Login to MFP].
Tap [Add a Shortcut to the Home Screen].
Tap [Next].
Enter the name of the shortcut icon to be added to the Home screen, and tap [Add].
Return to the Home screen, and confirm that the shortcut icon has been created.

On a smart device running Android 8.0 Oreo or later, if a home application other than the standard Android application is being used, you cannot create shortcuts. Create shortcuts from the menu screen.
