Problems Other Than Those Indicated by Error Messages
A QR code could not be read.
Move the smart device closer or further from the operation panel to adjust the focus.
The lens of the camera was dirty. Clean the lens of the camera, and then read the QR code again.
The Smart Operation Panel's screen reflects light. Avoid exposing the Smart Operation Panel's screen to light.
The machine does not respond even when you place the smart device near the Bluetooth label on its operation panel.
The connection may become unavailable when you perform one of the following operations after the Bluetooth connection is established:
The Bluetooth Authentication Plugin that is installed on the machine has been disabled and enabled again
The Bluetooth connection function of Smart Device Connector that is installed on the machine has been disabled and enabled again
If another application that uses “8080” to accept a connection as a server is running on your smart device, the device may fail to establish a connection to the machine. On the operation panel of the machine, open the [Smart Device Connector] screen, and then select a port number other than “8080” in [Set Port].
Could not connect to Web Image Monitor.
If an Internet connection is established using a proxy server on an intranet, connecting to Web Image Monitor is not possible.
If this occurs, modify the related setting such as the exception setting in the proxy management file or MDM to rectify the network environment.
A password was lost.
Contact your administrator. A password cannot be recovered if you lose it.
Install RICOH Smart Device Connector again.
All data stored in the RICOH Smart Device Connector folder will be deleted when you install the software again.
A device that is placed next to your smart device responds unintendedly when Bluetooth connection is enabled.
Depending on the signal strength of surrounding devices, an unintended device may be detected.
When placing multiple Bluetooth devices side by side, leave a distance of 1 meter or more between them.
Cannot use the scan, fax or copier functions.
If you register a device when only SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 is enabled in the machine's [SSL/TLS] setting, the machine's functions may be unusable. Enable TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2.
If you connect via Wireless Direct to a device equipped with MultiLink-Panel, scanning fails after data acquisition.
The device may be in energy saver mode, causing an error. On the device, set [Human Detection Sensor] to active or set [Sleep Mode Timer] to a longer time.
Cannot detect the Bluetooth signal when registering the device.
Retry the connection. If you cannot detect the signal by retrying, set [Settings]
[Bluetooth Sensitivity Settings] to [High] or [Highest], and then retry the connection.
Data cannot be displayed correctly.
Data layout may be displayed wrongly on devices with different screen sizes or resolutions. Adjust the screen size or resolution settings.
A print-out is not counted as black-and-white data.
Data in black and white is printed in full color. Select [B & W] in [Color/B&W]. See List of Printer Setting Items in this manual.
Data is not printed as intended.
The specified print settings are wrong. Modify page format settings or other print settings of the application to create print data.
A file is not printed to its last page.
When a large sized file is printed, a connection timeout may occur while the print job is transferred, and printing may terminate before printing of all the pages in the job is completed.
If this occurs, continue printing from the page in which printing terminated, or specify a longer time in [Auto Disconnect Settings] of Smart Device Connector on the operation panel, and then try print again.
Cannot print PDFs using functions other than PDF Direct Printing.
If the device has the PDF Direct Printing function, PDF Direct Printing is used automatically.
You can set PDF Direct Printing to [Off] as follows:

[MFP / Printer]
Tap [i] on the right side of the device.
Set [PDF direct print] to [Off].
