Configuration : IPP Authentication

If using the IPP protocol, configure the authentification settings for printing here.

Authentication
When printing by IPP protocol, select whether or not to require a user name and password for printing.
If you select "Disable", no authentication is made and any client can print. If you select "BASIC" or "DIGEST", only users whose [User Name] and [Password] are correct, can print.
When performing authentication, it is recommended to select "DIGEST". "BASIC" does not perform encryption during authentication, however "DIGEST" encrypts the Username and Password and performs authentication.
You can register up to ten sets of [User Name] and [Password].

User Name
Input a user name which has print privileges when "BASIC" or "DIGEST" is selected in [Authentication]. Maximum length of the Username is 8 characters.

Password
Input a password which has print privileges when "BASIC" or "DIGEST" is selected in [Authentication]. Maximum length of the Password is 8 characters.
