When a printer is equipped with a finisher that has the punch function, holes can be punched in the printed documents.
Depending on the printer you are using, this function may not be available.
Note:
If the Punch: list is grayed out, check that the optional finisher is installed on the printer and selected on the Accessories tab of the printer properties dialog box.
If the punch position you require is not available, check the type of punch unit selected in the Punch Unit: list on the Accessories tab.
Available punch positions depend on the settings selected in Orientation and Print On: on the Frequently Used Settings tab or the Basic menu of the Detailed Settings tab. Check these settings in advance.
Open the printing preferences dialog box after creating a document in an application.
Click the Frequently Used Settings tab or the Finishing menu of the Detailed Settings tab.
Select the punching position in the Punch: list.
After making any other necessary settings, click OK to close the printing preferences dialog box.
Start printing.
