Text inserted in the top margin of each page of a document is called a header, and text inserted in the bottom margin is called a footer. Besides date, page number, and file name, text of up to 16 double-byte or 32 single-byte characters can be inserted into these areas.
Depending on the printer you are using, this function may not be available.
Note:
If you print a document using the Reduce/Enlarge function, the header and footer will also be reduced or enlarged.
A header and footer will be printed on every page. For example, if you print several document pages on a sheet of paper (Layout), a header and footer will appear on every page.
If you want to print a header and footer on every sheet but not every page, clear the Per Original Page check box.
Open the printing preferences dialog box after creating a document in an application.
Click the Effects menu on the Detailed Settings tab.
Select the Header/Footer check box.
Select the items that you want to print on header and footer, Date and Time, Page Number, and Text.
To edit the header and footer items, click Details... to open the Edit Header/Footer dialog box.
In the Date and Time group, select a position and a format for printing date and time.
In the Page Number group, select a position and a format for printing page number.
In the Text group, select a position and a format for printing text. If you select User Text in the Format: list, enter the text for header/footer in the Text: box using up to 32 single-byte or 16 double-byte characters.
Specify a font and font size in Font: and Size:.
To print header and footer per page of document, select the Per Original Page check box.
Click OK to close the dialog box.
After making any other necessary settings, click OK to close the printing preferences dialog box.
Start printing.
