If your printer is equipped with the perfect binder, the Perfect Binding function is available. Perfect binding is a binding method that applies heated glue to printed sheets to form a book block, encloses the book block in a cover sheet, and trims away excess paper to create neat edges.
Depending on the printer you are using, this function may not be available.

Open the printing preferences dialog box after creating a document in an application.
On the Frequently Used Settings
tab, specify the size of original and the paper source tray.
You can also specify them on the Basic
and Paper menus of the Detailed
Settings tab.
Click the Finishing menu on the Detailed Settings tab.
Select the Perfect Binding check box.
Click Details....
The Perfect
Binding Details dialog box appears.
In the Binding Position: list, select a binding position.
In the Binding Paper Source Tray: list, select a paper source tray for the cover sheet.
In the Perfect Binding Cutting Options: list, select a cut method for the cover sheet.
In the Adjust Image Position area, you can specify a distance by which you want to shift the print image on the book block pages.
In the Adjust Cut Position
area, specify the necessary settings according to the cutting method selected
in the Perfect Binding Cutting Options: list.
The shaded settings are unavailable.

Click OK to close the Perfect Binding Details dialog box.
After making any other necessary settings, click OK to close the printing preferences dialog box.
Start printing.
