Using the Document Server

If the printer is equipped with the document server inside, document data can be stored in the document server for printing.

The document server stores documents data for later printing. The data can be combined and finishing such as stapling and punching can be specified when printing. Even document data from different computers or document data scanned from a scanner can be combined.

Depending on the printer you are using, this function may not be available.

Note:

  1. Open the printing preferences dialog box after creating a document in an application.

  2. Click the Frequently Used Settings tab or the Job Setup menu of the Detailed Settings tab.

  3. In the Job Type: list, select Document Server and click Details... to open the Change Job Type dialog box.

  1. In the User ID: list, select a user ID type.
If you select Create Own ID, enter a user ID in the Enter User ID: box using up to 8 alphanumeric (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) characters.
